I am posting in the ford explorer forum because I accidently ran accross it while searching the web to try to find the answer to my problem.
I own a 2002 escort ZX2 coupe. It has a premium sound radio/cassett/cd with four speakers, with cd changer in trunk. The amplifier shorted out and has to be replaced with some other ampllifier. My problem is ford has no replacement amp available for my year and model car. They say the part is obsolete. I have checked with the obolete car parts dealers to no avail.
I would appreciate someone helping me with advice on what amp to buy to replace it. and then How does one determine how to wire the new amp to the existing factory wiring harness or connections from the old amp to the new amp. There is nothing wrong with the radio or the wiring to the amp.
I am not a big car stero buff. I smply want to listen to the stations on the radio that enjoy listening to such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and The Great one.
Thanks in advance
