Need a set of heads

I have a '91 with severely cracked heads....tore my '94 parts truck down and it has cracks too. What are the chances of finding good used heads at the local salvage yard? They have several Explorers there but I don't want to waste a lot of time only to get another set of cracked heads. Is this a really common problem?

I bought the '91 to fix and resell...can't spend $400 on a new set of heads because I'm not sure I'd get my money back out of it.

Turns out the bottom end of my truck is locked tight too...but I can always swap the block over from my parts truck. Turning into a lot more work than I expected!

A good salvage yard will keep pulling heads until they find one without cracks. I only needed one, had a yard pull it for me. Went and cleaned it, found a crack: returned with the head and picked up another (free of charge). Went and cleaned it, found a crack: returned again and picked up another again (again free of charge). The third one was good.
