Does anyone know where to find the metal clips that the quick detach screws go into on the air deflector that you have to take off to perform an oil change?? Maybe a part number?

Long story short, the air deflector hit something in the tall grass and detached itself, when i went to reinstall it, the clips where gone.
Thanks!

Have you tried the dealer's parts department? You are not the first to have lost them.

There's a cover hanging down from the underside of the engine compartment. I can't locate a part name or find the screws I need to reconnect it. The screw or clip towards the back of the piece is missing. Upon closer inspection, it looks like an air intake but seems to just direct air up into the engine compartment.

Is anyone familiar with this piece on the underside of the 2011 Ford Explorer and what the part numbers are for the piece or just the screws clips? They aren't like a Dorman and are metal with a flat head you can grab to turn. (see first two pictures for screw).
Pics at this link...

That's the Engine Underbody Air Deflector on Explorers with the Tow Package. There are 3 twist clips (two in the front and one in the back). These twist knobs go into inserts.

Have your oil changed lately? This has to be removed to get access to the drain plug. Most likely wasn't buttoned down when reinstalled.

Short part number is 10494 (search on fordparts.com) for the air deflector

Thanks. I need the screw for it. Is there a trick to searching the fordparts catalog? Nothing seems to come up and the screw is labeled "HM2" in the exploded view and nothing comes up for it.

Mine disappeared after about 6 months - about the same time it was in a dealership for some work and an oil change. They never found it. It never seemed to matter.

My only concern would be towing at max capacity and any additional heat generated because of the load.

Hi I am a new owner of a 2012 explorer LTZ less than 24 hours. I had exact same problem only worse , my entire deflector unit came off and smashed up on thoroughfare . I have the prices but need to buy a new one as it is too busted up to be affixed. Did you ever learn the proper part numbers for the frame inserts / clip nuts for the three twist lock screws? Could you please share any pictures you may have taken of the parts needed ? Thanks tom

Resurrecting this thread, the frame clip part number is W716006-S439
Mine finally rusted and broke. Added image of what they look like.

According to the Levittown Ford site, this part, BB5Z-00817-A, does not fit the 2012 Explorer XLT. It does fit the Edge.
However, the Ford Parts site shows it does fit. https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/h...train-skid-plate-clip-(at)-p-bb5z00817a?pdp=y
