Those torx bits are notorious for breaking. When you get a replacement, make sure its a quality gaurenteed for life one.

Maybe even lube it up before you go at it. :D

Dunno bout getting em out, besides maybe an easy out. But i replaced the Torx bolts with allen bolts. I've found them much easier to work with.

go to a machine shop, they can get it off....try an easy out first.

Should be able to hit it with a small punch

and pull it out with a magnet. You just need to break where it is wedged. These are not a tight fit.

I was able to get the 7 or 8 MM socket on some of mine, you may have to hit it one with a hammer to get it to sit flat on the bolt head.

You mean those 6 or 8 that have the little black pieces that go between every 2? I have no idea, but i'd imagine they are metric. If for some reason you need some i've got mine in the garage.

nah, not those ones, those are for the 97+ style shaft. im talkin about ones for a 97- i need ones that go into the "holder" for the u-joint where it attaches to the transfer case. i got a pic: the yellow thing is a bolt and the red arrow is where tis supposed to go.
