Need Help ASAP please (idle issue)

my 02 explorer sport has an issue with the idle while it is in drive..

while its in drive sitting i feel sudden surges in the idle , cleaned the IAC, the plugs and wires are fine it idles ok and every couple seconds it surges. its fine while in park could i be feeling a tranny issue i have no clue here anyone have any idea what it could be??? is it a normal issue with these sports?
could it be leaky injectors or something really serious or should it be an easy fix.

anyone who has any idea or has had the same problem please let me know thanks ahead of time

Are you sure that is not the compressor that's kicking in every few seconds?
Try turning off the heat or the defroster, as it also uses the air conditioner compressor to dry the air coming into the cabin.

I also moved your thread to the 02-05 forum.

ya i turned off the heat and it still does it its not the compressor kicking in need some help asap...

i posted it int he 95 - 01 forum cause the 02+ forum says if you have the 2dr sport post there? anyway oops

please anyone need help bad this is this diff between me buying this thing or leaving it

I dont know about most ... but on my explorer the ac compressor cycles even when everything is off.... so it could still be on even if the ac/defrost/blower are off
