Hey all, this is my first post on this board as I'm looking to buy a 2000 Explorer. I test drove one today and realized how much I miss having a truck (previously had a 99 Durango). Anyway, I looked at the prices at KBB, Edmunds, and NADA and I want to see what you guys thought of this deal:

2000 Explorer
- AWD
- 26,000 Miles
- Cloth Seats
- 5.0 V8
- Sport package (no chrome and extra "flairs" on the fender)
- Over all condition - VERY GOOD (a few minor scratches).

Asking Price = $16,900

This is my first time out looking for an X and this one is the color and configuration I want with what I consider very low miles. However, I want to see what you guys think about the price. I'm hoping I can get them down to about $16k which is the median from the different ones I've seen on line.

Also, let me know if there is anything I should be asking about. They offer this engine protection as long as you get the oil changes done at the dealership and they also have Ford extended warantees.

I'm a Japanese car guy myself, but I want a 2nd car to replace my current 2nd car for parking in the train station, driving in snow, and hauling back and forth from Home Depot. I'm a little concerned about buying a used american car as I have not had much luck in the past. I love the truck though.

What do you think

Thanks!

A truck like that is going for $13-14 around here.

but itz tx vs ny. that doesnt seem bad for the low mileage.

Yea, NY is expensive for everything. :(

If asking price is 16,900 you can get them down to at least low 15's. Go for it man
