It took me a month, but the Thule 441 Roof Rack I ordered on ebay is finally here. I tried to install it following the instructions, but it doesn't reach all the way across the Explorer. It fits perfectly in the little rain gutter things, but it's not very stable and the rubber feet things aren't touching anything. It won't go into where the doors close because it's not wide enough and the doors won't close if I do that.

Can someone help me out here? I can't find anything anywhere that tells me what to do in this case... Maybe just some pics of your thule racks and where the feet are installed would be nice too...

Thanks!

How about some pics of yours. Might be a little easier to figure out your problem. What do the "feet" look like.

I've got a Thule I purchased about 7 years ago at REI in Colorado. Sorry, have no idea of model number. It actually fits in the existing roof rack "runners" on either side. Really simple install but doesn't sound like to type you have.

I was unable to find any pictures of Thule 441 online.
If you have a photo, let me know.

You could always try contacting Thule directly or a local distributer. Bike shop, etc.
Good Luck!!

i did the same as tomblin, right in the old sliders. maybe there is someway you could find an adapter to fit your explorer better. go to a dealer and check.

Have you checked the Thule site and gone to installation help?
