Need help with part identification on top of Transmission cross member

Upon removing the transmission cross member. I noticed there is a 5/8" bar welded to the exhaust pipe laying on top of the transmission cross member without anything attached to it. I supposed there should be something insert to the bar to hang or to rest on the cross member. Would you know what it is? I supposed that it would be some kind of rubber thing that available from any auto parts store.
