Okay this is an easy one but I am having a tiny bit of trouble also. I can not seam to get any thing to fit the nuts.

Can any one tell me what size they are?
Is it better to use a Crowfoot open-end wrench or a combo?
I have to go out and Buy one or the other that’s why I am also asking and I need to get this thing done ASAP!

I know how to adjust it I just can not get my hands on it easy nor can I see it well .I have to work on it in the wet cold fog here and being disabled that sucks. But gots to do what ya gots to do and when this is done its time from a 4 wheel break check and R&R if need be.

Thanks Guys for the help

I believe that is the ones. I believe there the same ones to also adjust the shifter gate also. Man they are a you know what to get to grrr. I did try with a BF crescent wrench but no go although when I measured it out it was like 1 1/16" but I will take your word for it as I guts to get this done promised the grand daughter I would take her to the snow and boy she is reminding me every 5 minutes now LOL. Right now it is stuck in 4 low as the gate shifted some how.

Yea that's the ones you loosen to adjust the gate. The big bolt is actually a metric bolt but I forget which size it is. The 1-1/8" works fine and is what most people use. It's more common then the big metric wrench. It's not to bad to get too. I whole lot easier then some stuff.

well I thought that was the two s thanks!
now about not being bad to get too well that may be true if you have full movment and or a helpper . now were did that kid run off to again. dang him every time he hears the word work it's blame gone city LOL. again thanks guys got to get on it to day as yesterday Just had to let it go.

Just a foot note here.
The 1 and 1/8th fit good and worked like a charm. I was having trouble getting the tansfercase to **** into 4x4 hi or low as it was hard to get into gear and also when it did the indicator lights were not being light yet were not burned out. This all started after the trany was rebuilt some time back. I normally slip it into 4x4 ever few months just to keep it all lubed and check out for the few times I have needed it. It was hard to shift and would even grind gears most of the time going into or out of 4x4 low.
After adjusting the shift gate for the manual transfer case it now shifts easy lights the indicators and no more grinding at all. It will shift on the fly with no searching or other problems like before.
so if any one runs across this and has a grinding nose when changing from 2x4 to 4x4 hi or low and then back again try this free adjustment first as if it has slipped back or forward as in the gate that may be all your problem is as it was mine. Good luck and to the ones that gave me such fast info thanks!
