need radio help.

I just got a 95 eddie bauer explorer. the factory radio h/u has light, but will not turn on, I have checked all fuses and dont know what the problem is. my second question is if I buy a m100 to t100 harness adapter and use a 6cd changer from an 01 super duty will it work? I ask this because I happen to have a changer from a super duty already.
