Okay this is a long post but I need to get all the details in......I am new to the forum but have read posts on here often. I registered because now I have a problem I can't figure out with my 2001 explorer:

I changed the oil, filter, and airfilter this past weekend in the process I also installed a new positive terminal connector to the battery. The ols was the OEM type with a band held by a single bolt. (I wanted better connection for my amp). I cut the positive wires and installed an aftermarket clamp type terminal. I had driven a few days and all was well. This morning I went to crank it and the engine would turnover maybe twice and starter would disengage. When I say turnover i could hear it turn over then stop and I could hear the starter disengaging. I took the starter to a local auto parts store to be checked and they said it was good. The guy at the store told me there may be a connection problem where I replaced the terminal and suggested buying an OEM cable already made up and try that. Then someone else in the store told me that it could be the starter as it isn't under a load when tested in the store? Okay could someone please give me some direction with this problem. Thanks in advance.
