Hi guys, I've been reading your threads long time ago and finally decided to register to this page. To make the story short, my grandpa gave me his 93 XLT 5sp-manual Explorer about a year ago. The car was actually very good in terms of mechanical stuff although paint is ruined because of the weather here in Costa Rica. My brother and I have been repairing small things ourselves on the car.
The last problem we've had is: there is a coolant leaking from I don't know where, between the engine bay and the cabin. Reading older posts I discover that there are two hoses that go inside the cabin to the AC heater. I think the problem is in there. The hoses are in good condition and the leaking was under the car not from the hoses so I was thinking, is it possible that the heater somehow has a crack or something and is leaking lots of coolant?
The really good question is, if I disconnect the hoses and connect them before them going into the heater would the car run without problems other than not having the heater functional? Which in this country isn't really a problem.. I've been trying to put a picture to these thread but haven't succeeded, can someone explain me how? So you can see what two hoses I'm talking about...
P.S: I also have my ABS light on not every time I use the car but when the wheels spin it comes on and my cruise control doesn't work either. Does it has something to do with the speed sensor inside the transmission?
