- 1991 '47 p/u Explorer
Hey all. Erik here from north of the border. I have been lurking for a while researching but figured I would actually register so I can search the site. I got a 91 Explorer which is going to get used for the chassis. My project is a 47 ford p/u going on a 91 Explorer chassis. I plan to make this an off road weekend toy. Would like to put 35" tires on. Plan to do an axle flip in the rear. Looking for suggestions for lifting the front. I've seen the 4" lift kits and read about the 5.5" but cant find any pics to how the 5.5 differs in components from the 4". Also I'm keeping my eyes open for wheels and tires in the 33-35" range for sale around my area. But I don't know what backspacing is needed for suspension clearance for these vehicles. I'm not worried about trimming as I can build around those issues.
Heres a pic of the Explorer being used.
And the Modified 47 replacing the body.
