Hello all, Im new to the explorer world, always wanted one, I picked up an 02 with 136k for $2500, Not a bad deal. although everyone knows what the 02's are infamous for....so that's where im at, tranny shudders at times but doesn't miss gears. Oil leaking from what appears to be the driver side valve gasket. just had both the driver and pass hub assembly done at a shop.. I am pretty well mechanically inclined, but the funds aren't available to me at the time so i went with the tires plus credit deal to have them done asap. Needs ball joints which I may attack myself Sway bar links will be tomorrow. needs some cleaning inside. It drives pretty good. doesn't overheat or show any very serious issues. I will slowly but surely progress. All in all I LOVE the explorers. just not the many issues they bring! Hoping to use this site as a reference and meeting people with similar interests in ex's!
