2013 Limited AWD 302A
Hi All,

New to the forum but have been reading the past few weeks as I made my truck choice.

I'm happy to report I just took delivery of a 2013 Explorer Limited AWD with the 302A package in White.

Love it so far but very overwhelming coming from our Grand Caravan.

The only downside, I bought it for my wife......so need to offer up as many milk runs as I can!!!!

Look forward to chatting with all of you

Welcome to the forum, patchmo, and congratulations on the 2013! You should definitely spend some time at http://owner.ford.com. Not only can you find electronic copies of your Owner's Manual and other important vehicle documents, you can schedule service appointments, and print out valuable coupons for your next dealership visit.

Have a great time in your (wife's) Explorer! ;)

Crystal

Welcome to the Forum patchmo.:wavey:
Nice to see another fellow Canadian joining the ranks. I love my tri-white Explorer that I've had for just over 22 months and I'm still finding out the odd new thing about it. There is a lot to learn and remember and I think it is the second part I'm having difficulty with. :D
Don't hesitate to ask about anything but a good read of the Owner's Guide is a must. The members here are always willing to assist.
It would also be helpful if you showed your year and model in the left margin since some answers are model specific.
Happy New Year, and happy motoring.

Peter

grrtrainman, DID YOU ADD THE EXTRA LIMITED ON THE DOOR AND THE VENT ON THE FENDER ?

NEWPORTNJ:

No, that's just the 2013 Limited "Plus".

'Only kidding, yes, I did add those extras. I just wanted a little more "surface excitement" but at the same time I wanted it to look stock. Took a little extra time looking for just the right vent. Aesthetically it had to line up with the door handles and have the same horizontal design and size. It's a subjective thing. I like the look.

It look great, i did a few things to mines, i removed the antenna ant put the shark fin color coded.put led light around the headlights, also the window vents but in channel ones i dont like the surface mounted ones, tinted the front window to match others, mud guards, sunroof wind deflector, and had the daylight running light turned on at the dealer there is a thread in tghe forum on how to have it turned on.it sounds like a lot but it did not drown the explorer it just made the touch...! Can you tell me where you got the explorer sign and the fender vents.

NEWPORTNJ:

The explorer "Limited" nameplate is the same one as found on the tailgate. 'Got it cheaper on line than at our local Ford dealers. The same goes for the fender vent. I don't recall which on line merchant I got it from, but I found it by Googling "fender vents"! There's a chance you might even get lucky and find a selection of vents at your local auto parts stores. One word of caution. Don't even think of putting these things on in cold weather unless you have a garage and heat lamps, etc. Also, be sure to use something like "PrepSol" on the surfaces to make sure they are squeaky clean.
I also use masking tape for alignment and spacing issues. You HAVE TO get it right because once you tack those suckers on you can't reposition them !

How about posting some pics of your new wheels. I'd love to see what you did with those LEDs around the headlights...
