i might be getting a new explorer or expidition (within a month). and was wondering does anybody know what the average invoice (the dealer cost) is? i will be on the x-plan and was just wondering before i get home.

also which should i get my wife wants the expidition, but i want another explorer. we both want a manual tranny explorer, but my wife want the space of the expidition.

any help would be nice.

Check out the standard car cost sites

Look at www.edmunds.com and www.kbb.com. CarPoint from MSN has a similar feature.

If you want a manual, you're out of luck. As far as I have seen, there are no manual Expeditions at all.

Unless you get an Explorer XLS, you can't get a 4dr Explorer manual. If you get the XLS, no 3rd row seat, no tow package, blah blah blah.

With a new baby, the Explorer Sport is out of the question.

Even the prior generation Explorer had to be special ordered to get a stick, I was really surprised.

If you offroad at all, the Expedition FX4 comes out late this year. Ltd slip, skidplates (NOT normally available), STEEL 17" rims, some stupid nerf bars that will probably get ripped off day one. However, nice to see Ford still thinks that some people take their 4x4's offroad.

We're keeping our 98 Explorer forever, but our next truck will probably be an Expedition FX4 or an Excursion. Can't go offroad like our Explorer or Ranger, but we're running out of room with two boys. We figure to keep the little trucks for the gnarly stuff and use the big truck for the gentler paths.

i just found out that the company that i work for is going to be laying off 5000 more people. so looks like no new truck right now. dang just when i start to want something this crap happens.

i was looking on the ford site last night and saw that you can get a 4dr explorer with a manual tranny in XLS trim, but when searching the dealers i found they had none all auto's.

looks like i might have to order when i do buy new.

That sucks

I wish you luck and congrats:D
