2004 Ford Explorer XLT
What's up guys. I own a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT 2WD. Hadn't really thought about doing anything to it, as we bought it for my wife, but she prefers the 01 Escape.

Instead of getting into an F-150/F-250, I think I've decided to fix what is wrong with my explorer, and put a bit of a lift on it to make it mine instead of "hers." I live out in southern california and not too far from me are a bunch of good places to have some fun off of a paved road. Which is something I'm kinda new to, but, it's something I definitely want to get into... Something to do on the weekends besides church hah!

I'm looking forward to learning the best way to go about lifting my explorer and to start having fun with it. I'll get some pictures of it up later. But it's Mineral Grey Metallic with the 3rd row. Pretty well loaded, has less than 90k miles on it, bought it 3 years ago with under 70k on the ticker.

My issue may be though, it seems to have a few things wrong with it. CEL comes on, and if I remember the code right, it's P2106, it also has issues shifting into reverse, and sometimes it will have a surging idle and / or stall out (I assume that might be associated with the P2106 code, but I haven't really continued research on it).

Any pointers to get those issues fixed before I dump money into lifting it, would be greatly appreciated!
