Finally had the wheel bearings replaced. Just bought the vehicle 18 months ago and it always had some noise, especially making turns or just lane changes. So took it in and had the wheel bearings up front changed. Also did rotors, pads, some stabilizer thing and had them flush the brake fluid since it was pretty dark. About $1600 later, I now have a very quiet, stable-when-braking, car that is a joy to drive. Labor wasn't much, around $340, but parts ran higher than I thought. This was a neighborhood mechanic instead of the dealer.
I think the rotors being warped might have effected the wheel bearing life and maybe the stabilizer link too. Dunno'. It shook pretty bad under medium to heavy braking. Decided to do it all at one time since it all had to come apart to do the wheel bearings anyway.
So now, I can actually turn the radio down!
