Hey everyone

I am just introducing myself. I am from Davenport, Iowa and happy to own my first 4x4. I have been a honda/acura man for awhile, but now see the advantage to a 4x4 in the snow and slippery iowa winters. I have had some problems with my new explorer but nothing major that I am aware of. I really like this site and hope to help people out any way I can. My baby has 52,000 mile on her and is a 96 limited. I like all the little features of it, but i dont know about the tranny. From what I am reading on here, they are problematic.

Anywho, just saying hello and I am glad to be a part of this website.

Welcome aboard Geoff123!:D

Glad to hear you like the X. It's just a great all around vehicle. Feel free to ask any questions if any problems arise (hopefully they won't). Tell you one thing though, this is probably the best resource available for the Explorer/Explorer Type vehicles. I have a 01 and I already put 48K miles on it already! Glad that you found one with decent milage.

Do you plan on doing any mods/runs?

not really man, i am one of those guys who buys a car and leaves it. The biggest reason for no mods on cars isnt want or desire, its just that I am in college which means no money, and what money i do have goes to partying and paying bills. I also dont have the knowledge to put on all those complicated parts myself, so installation of those parts is another expense. I can put on factory parts with instructions but others are too much for me. Also, with mods and i am sure what kind of mod it is matters, does that reduce reliability or no...

Geoff

Thanks for the welcome, everyone on this site is more than helpful and that is something that ya just dont find these days.:D :D

Welcome to the board Geoff

Where do you like to party at down in the cities?

Welcome to the site Geoff.

Great find on a '96 with 52,000. You have a while before you need to start worrying about the tranny. I've got a '96 with 130,000 miles on it and I haven't replaced anything major.

Glad you found us and happy postin'!:)
