2002 Explorer Eddie Bauer
Hi everyone! I bought a used 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4x4 in August 2009 and am loving it! But, I did have both rear spring/struts fall apart and get replaced at the cost of $810 at Tires Plus.

Now, I hear what sound like tire noise when I get above 20 to 25mph. I have had experience with differential problems in a Chevy Truck before, but that sounded like a whine, not a tire noise growl. I'm curious what it could be--all the CV joints look good, none leaking. Also, Tires Plus said that both my front wheel hub bearing needed replacing eventually.

Differential, CV joint, hub bearings, or something else? Help please!

I had the very same problem turned out to be my wheel bearings. Parts ran like 30 bucks per wheel for new ones. Got rid of my growl.

Were those the front bearings?

welcome
