Hello all.
I'm a long time watcher and lurker here but have not acted on any urges for reasons I will explain, but I just wanted to start by saying hello. I look forward to putting any and all knowedge found here to good use.
My wife and I bought the 2003 explorer (XLT 4.0 decently optioned for a 2003) new and have had an excelent long term relationship with it, but every time I sugested some mod or change I got "well it works fine the way it is" or "it's my truck! leave it alone!" so it was left stock (I replaced the original michelins with the exact same thing, twice. thats how stock this truck is.) and has performed admirably as daily driver, family hauler and road tripper for 10 years and 80k. and hopefuly it will continue to do so for some time longer.
The 2003 is a differant story and the reason for the renewed interest. I very recently came into a great deal on the 2002. this is a nice truck with 120k, 4.6, leather, air and almost power everything. this truck is mine to drive and fiddle with mostly as I please. I do need to spend some time shaking out a list of annoying bugs, console power point is inop, drivers rear window has lots of play in the regulator. the heater blows hotish, the rear glass needs lift struts. you get the idea, nothing major. but things that need to be addressed. but thats half the fun! I will be modding, improving and customizing as I go along.
so heres hoping this is a fun ride.
