- 1987 Ford Ranger
Alright, so I'm pretty sure there is a build on here somewhere that I should be referencing but I'm new and not sure where to look.
I have a 1987 Ranger that I got for $800 while I was deployed. Got back and started tearing into the motor and decided that figuring out what all was wrong with it wasn't worth my time. So I'm planning on putting a 4.0 that I have from another project into the Ranger. My question is, how involved is this swap? I already have the motor, and motor mounts, I have a transmission for the 4.0 if the one in the truck won't handle the new motor, I know I need a new wiring harness and computer (the ECU I do have is for push button 4x4 and I'm sticking with manual selection). What am I looking at price wise for a harness and ECU and how hard is this really going to be?
