new guy

Hi everyone, I just got myself a 04 Explorer yesterday, its got the 4.0 V6 4x2 and well as the screen name says its green just thought I'd say hello and tell you a little about my new SUV I currently have a 95 Blazer I got the Explorer to replace that I'm actually originally a Ford guy but the wife got the Blazer when we were still dating almost 6 years ago, and the Blazer was starting to get bad about needing repairs then one day a couple weeks ago it wouldn't start i tried a few things and still can't get it to start, and got tired of it and we got this little Explorer yesterday at the local Ford dealer it's a sweet little ride. I'll get some pics of it sometime this weekend.

hey thanks guys, im not new to forums, im a part of the CEG (Contour Enthusiasts Group/www.contour.org) as I have a 97 Mercury Mystique as well which is on the same platform as the Contour was, been to a few meets around where I'm at in Ohio, we are actually planning one for next month.

question, how can i tell if my key has the chip in it because mine only came with one key and key fob and ive been looking on ebay for keys and fobs all i can find is the chipped keys

it has a little insignia on the metal part of the key right where it meets up with the plastic.

My key has the "S" as well and also has the chip. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you definitely have a chip in your key. I judge this on the fact that you have an '04. I could be all wet if the XLS was available without a chipped key. No, no, no. I say there is a chip in your key!!!

i figured i did, i also have another question do these have special plugs for the 4 flat trailer plugs, because my trailer plug is a 4 flat and it won't go in the plug on the truck
