hey everyone! i found this board the other night and what a blessing!! ive always thought about modding the X, and its glad to see that other people can help me with this. the cool thing about my X is that she has a unique sound system. I am a computer guy and i have tons of mp3s (5000 enough??). About 3 years ago i custom built and installed a computer in my car to play my mp3s. Today my carputer is even better. I have it all controlled by a IR reciever and remote. The display i am using is a 5" lcd thats connected to the pc. The sound is connected to the Aux. Input (best input possible) on my Pioneer Premier deh-p720. It sounds awesome and it sure is wows alot of people. I just wanted to say hey, and if you wanna see pics on my X, check out http://members.sounddomain.com/explorerstud. I am going to post new pics sometime this weekend (i got a new digital camera).

thanks! it definately is cool. i like the fact that i have all my music at my fingertips. as far as my mods go, all i have done for performnace is throw a k&n in the stock box. within the next few months i want to get a KKM intake and a Diablo chip. The speed grille is my next project though. Ive also considered getting the clear corners. I never have really liked them, but wow they look good on the 91-94 X's.

Sweet setup!

What are the specs on the PC in your truck, and was it hard to mount the LCD?

PC:
Asus p5a-b Motherboard
AMD k6-2+ 475mhz
8.5 gig hard drive (upgrading to 60gig next week)
32 meg Radeon Video Card with tv-out
64 megs of ram
rounded ide cable
10/100 3com network card
Soundblaster Live! sound card

To control it i use an IR Reciever (evation.com/irman) and it can be programmed to ANY remote.

The LCD was easy to mount, the one i have right now is wired to the battery and its just sitting on the floor. Its a flip up LCD i got from Partsexpress.com.

It sounds nice...and with the upgrade, its gonna be better!! Ive been into mp3cars for 3.5 years now. This is my 2nd car, and most impressive setup so far.
