Howdy. The names Jeff. I'm a member of the US Navy and needed a nice, decent cash car that could get me from my current duty station of Fort Worth, Tx to a temp station of Whidbey Island, WA, and then 2 months later go from Washington State to Washington D.C., which is my new, final duty station for the next four years.
I know, sounds like a lot of fun.
Either way, I owned a 1998 Explorer Sport years ago and the wife and I managed to find a steal of a deal on this 1999 Explorer Sport just yesterday.
Here's our stable of cars. As you can see, we're not really restricted, though I guess you could say we have two Fords.
The 99 Ex. Sport, our new 2008 Mazda Tribute, and a 1996 3000GT.
And now, the new car. Walked out of the place with it for $3000.
Now, there was one problem and that is that it was tossin' out a CEL. I need to go get the codes pulled tomorrow but I'm guessing in the lean bank 1 and 2 that it's screaming out. I say this mainly because the MAS sensor is obviously aftermarket ( probably some Carquest hackjob ) or it could be the intake gaskets. Looking at the how-to on the gaskets it probably shouldn't take more than $40 and 4 hours of my time.
Here's what I'm talking about with the MAS, btw.
Well, that's my introduction. I look forward to reading some of the obviously great and informative threads here on this forum and if any of y'all have any questions abou the US Navy, feel free to ask.
