Mainly with the electronic four wheel drive and low range.
First, I'm having trouble shifting into 4X4 and can not shift into low range at all. I figure this is probable a solinoid problem, but I'm not sure where to look for them?
The second issue is that I'm not sure if the hubs release when it comes out of 4X4. I don't really know hwat to listen for when you back up to release the hubs or howto visually verify that thehubs have released?
I'll take manual hubs any day.
Other than that my Wife bought the Explorer new in 92. 163,000 miles on one engine (4 liter), transmission and clutch and it really runs great.
It is a manual shift 5 speed.
