Hello, my name is michael im new here. Im manily into mini trucks, im a cert in aluminum welder, i get to build fun crazy things. But why im here is because im about to buy my 1st explorer. Its a 98 4.0sohc awd rig. Im getting it on the cheap it keeps throwing evap codes. Hopefully with some help i can get it to pass emsiossions

Michael, welcome to EF. As far as the evap codes I had the same problem when I purchased my 2000 Ranger a couple years ago. I found the fuel fill pipe was badly rusted & the rubber hose from the metal pipe to the tank was leaking, I replaced both of them & the gas cap & it fixed the problem.
