Volant has finally released their kit for the SOHC after months of "next week" promises. It looks very much like the kit shown at Explorer Underground, but it lost the plexiglass cover. Check it out at

My question is whether it is that much better than a stock air box with the front cut out. Really, the difference is the hose between throttle body and MAS and replacing the flat filter with a cone filter.
I cut the front of my stock air box open and I was impressed with the improvement, especially since it only cost me dremel and sanding time (yeah, I could have skipped sanding the edges, but I'm funny like that). I'm not sure I'll see $250 worth of horsepower with the Volant kit, although it looks pretty damn cool. I am probably better off with an exhaust instead of the Volant.
