hmm, i guess all the rumors that the aviator was getting cut are proven wrong with this concept:

hmm, how long has the current avaitor been out? a year? hmm, what do you all think?

The Aviator concept, which Phil Martens, group vice president of product creation, called an “Aviator teaser,” shows how today’s Explorer-based Aviator will move to a car-based Aviator wagon.

The concept is powered by a 245-horsepower 3.5-liter Duratec V6 capable of 240 lb-ft of torque.

The vehicle has four “first class-style” seats that sit above a Behr hardwood floor, and there are front and rear consoles between the seats. The hardwood floor continues into the Aviator’s cargo area, which provides 30 cubic feet of storage space. The roof is all glass.

That's a first in a modern car, a hardwood floor.

I saw that on the news last night. I almost lost my dinner.:thumbdwn:

I can't stand these new crossover vehicles. The new engine sounds nice though. They should put that in the new base model Mustang instead of the 4.0L.

Like a Rondezvous....

What I can't figure out about the "hardwood floor" (which will never see production I'm sure) is what does that to do ambient noise in the cabin? Carpeting passively muffles sound.

wood floor? wtf, they had those in old pickups, bc steel cost too much then and it was durable.. well shortterm... if im buying any lincoln, the only wood it better have in it better be my dash trim and door panel trim!

its ugly, looks like an escape, but crossed with an aztek

Just because they made this concept doesn't mean that the Aviator isn't finished. That's why it's a concept.

In any case, I hope it stays a concept, and perhaps we should question the designer's concept of a good looking vehicle, because that thing certainly doesn't fit the bill. :p

Sounds underpowered.
