hi this place seemed to be right up my alley so i jioned. i drive a 96 ford ranger xlt ext. cab short box 2wd, but believe u me it a wannbe 4wd from time to time. this truck is a tough old girl all olriginal parts in motor and trany and the thing has 231,000 miles on it. and surprizing there isnt any rust on it living in northern michigan. the question is what is going to be the best way to rebuild my trany and with what parts and how much $$$ is it goin to cost me?

There is a function on the tool bar above called 'Search' when you enter "rebuild A4LD" you will see several threads that discuss that topic. The best thread is; http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137972&highlight=a4ld+rebuild+diary and Clacier991 is the tranny master.

Read as much as you can and if you still have questions post in the 'Under the hood and Driveline' forum. Glacier is better than most at giving answers.
