Just purchased or will tomorrow a 99 XLT for $4500 with 85K, local vehicle.

Had the Ford dealer check today for free other than a diff pinion seal leak and some minor amount of water in the brake fulid? they recomeded a 4x4 Svc @ $210 new fuel filter at $55 and a brake flush @ $100 and a cracked accessory belt under the hood at $85

Of course will check my local shops as all are cheaper than the dealer for these services.

Anyway last Explorers was a 2002 XLT,

also had a 2001 Sport Trac a 97 XLT and a 99 XLT Sport :exp:

Look forward to doing some camping in the following weeks here in SW Idaho

Other than the belt, I don't have a hydraulic jack and stands to do under the vehicle work or the experience.


that's why shops make $ on me.....
