I have been enjoying this site for a few weeks and finally got around to registering. Great website. You all seem to be really helpful and are eager to assist anybody with a question. Keep it going, ladies and gents, this is one of the great uses of the 'Net.

Just bought a '94 4X4 XLT about a month ago and love it. I live on the Prairies in Canada, so the 4X4 is really a nice thing to have in the winter. It is just a stock Explorer with the Limited slip diff, towing package(class 3 hitch and trailer brakes), CD, sunroof. Basically everything except leather.

I really enjoy reading all of your posts and seeing all the ways you have improved your Explorers. Mine will remain the family hauler, so I won't be lifting it or anything, but I may look for some performance boosters for pulling the boat.

Keep it up fellas(and ladies)

Welcome to the site! I have but one question for you... Does it ever get warm enough in Saskatchewan to use a boat? :)

JonM

You bet!

Hey, JonM in sunny Florida. Yes it does get warm enough here to use a boat. (No, we don't live in igloos up here.)

Got the best of both worlds, ice fishing half the year, boat fish the other half! Some of the best fishing/hunting in the world(world record Typical Whitetail taken here). And, best of all, even in the city, we are only minutes away from the country, where our Explorers were made to be used.

Best of both worlds? I agree - fishing is awesome. But I am not sure if I would call freezing my tail off sitting on a 5gal pail waiting for perch and pike to bite when it's -10 outside awesome! :) Acutally I used to do my fair share of ice fishing, but now it's limited to bass, tarpon, snook, redfish, grouper - year round from a sunny beach, boat or embankment...

Again - welcome to the site, enjoy the snow!

JonM

Who sits on a 5 gal pail. I prefer to sit in my 8x10 heated shack. Nothing like fresh perch cooked up minutes after being caught. Nothing, except I guess fishing off the coast of Florida!

Welcome to the site bud! We have quite a few members from Canada here and it's always good to see another one join us! I have to agree with you, this is a pretty spectacular site! Wecome aboard and happy posting!
