Hello, I have just become the owner of a 1998 Ford Explorer 4x4 Eddie Bauer with a 4.0L V6. I've also become the owner of a transmission problem, which brings me to being a new member to your forum. I have searched a little through the forums and while I haven't found the exact answer to my problem, I do believe there are some very knowledgeable people here and I feel you guys will be a big help. Now that all the smoozing is over I will tell you a little about myself. I live on the coast of North Carolina( have all my life). I am a waterman/boat mechanic. While I have never really loved working on automobiles, I do all I can myself for the obvious reasons - cost, waiting times at shops, knowledge, etc. and can handle most repairs that don't require tools I don't have or can't afford. It will take me a little while to figure out how to get around this forum, but as I do I want to thank any and all of you who may give me any assistance. Hope you have a great day!
