Retired Air Force, 25 years. Permanently retired. Worked at Ford dealership for 5 years in sales and office. Have owned many Fords over the years, including an English Ford. 2008 Explorer XLT nicely equipped. Going to use to tow a 30' travel trailer. Downsizing from a big truck and 5th wheel. Glad to be on board.

Welcome to the forum, post up a picture of your explorer.
--I may know the answer to this, but you have future mods planned for this explorer?
--V8 or V6?

:) Don't have any plans to beyond what it takes to pull my new travel trailer. I'm an old fart and pretty much spend my money on camping and beer. And computer junk, and books, and cd's......:D Well, you get the picture. I saw a tee shirt once that fits me, said "Throughout my life I've spent most of my money on women and beer.... The rest I just squandered." Going to Hanover, PA on Wed to pick up my new Earthbound Golden-Ridge TT. Down grading from a 2010 Dodge 3500 diesel (which I love) and a 35' fifth wheel (which I love the space, layout, but not the construction. Already had to have two walls replaced in it. Small crack in fiberglass, wall delaminates. New TT has no wood so won't be able to delaminate. Enough of my BS. Thanks for the welcome. Will post a pic of ride when I get back in a couple of weeks.:salute:

...I knew the answer to my question lol Older guys aren't like younger guys (including me) who think if the parts isn't permanetly on the car...well...it can be removed and replaced :D
From a 2010 dodge to a 2008 ford....I guess thats alright. What am I to say I don't have any campers or atv's to tow with my explorer.

:us: Not really trading down, already had the Explorer, just getting rid of the truck. Explorer is at the dealership right now getting gone over for the trip. :salute:

welcome to the site, thanks for joining.

My Explorer is a 4.6L V-8 XLT ALL white. Leather, etc. I've been trying to find out if it has the whole trailer tow package as it has the receiver and wiring. I'm sure hoping it has the tranny cooler or I may be up the creek pulling the trailer around. The shop is supposed to tell me when I pick it up today. Tried looking last night but couldn't really tell.

Thanks for the welcome.:salute:
