Just picked up a very clean 1999 explorer 4dr with the ohv 4.0. 177k miles, 8k on rebuilt a/t and new tires. Paid $2200- I think I did pretty well. Needs a little front end work, but otherwise runs and drives great! Going to be used as a third vehicle- my wife has a toyota yaris (boo- not my doing) and we need 4wd where we live in the winter for her- not to mention the 100lb lab is destroying the inside if the yaris. I've got an 03' Tacoma, but will drive the ford when she doesn't need it. I've always done maybe 95% of any work my vehicles need, so these online forums can (and have) come in handy! Next up: rebuild the front end of the Explorer and clutch on the taco.

Welcome to the forum! 177K on the truck is pretty much just getting broken in! You should be able to find a pretty good amount of information about the truck here and how to fix it.
