2000 explorer
Hello to everyone. I joined to share info. I am currently trying to swap a 1998 4.0 into a 2000 explorer.and running into problems the 98 motor has a 6 bolt flex plate the flex plate that I was going to use off the 2000 has an 8 bolt .are the two plates the same # of teeth 138 and the same diameter outside 296mm/11.65inch?
.

Welcome to this forum! You have to use the same flexplate. It's a good idea to replace the Ford powdered iron spacer with a billet steel Sonnax spacer. Update your profile to include your vehicle & location.

Welcome!

You are also going to have to use the fuel system off of the 2000 since it is return less.
