Hello everyone my name is Colton and I live in Texas. I have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport 4x4. I bought the vehicle about 2 weeks ago. Little did I know about the difference in suspension from other models. Anyway I’m here seeking advice on my build and to check out everyone else’s builds. I plan on turning this explorer into an overland rig at some point. Thank for having for me!

Colton, welcome to the forum from southern NJ. My wife drives a 99 Sport.

When the rear spring rear shackles rusted out I replaced them with Warrior 153 shackles which gave it about 1-2" of rear lift then I cranked the Torsion bars to raise the f/e a little so it looks almost level.

Yea I’m looking at a company called torch off-road and they sell a 3” shackle and torsion key kit that will lift our vehicles 3 inches which would be perfect because at the moment I don’t want to do a SOA swap. I’ve also heard the Ford ranger shocks work with our vehicles as well.

Ranger front shocks are the same as the fronts on a Explorer, the rears are different.

Oh when I was looking at them on pro comp they looked the same you just had to press a dog bone (I think is what they are called) into the bushing on the top. Because I can’t find any extended shocks for 3inch lifts for my vehicle.
