I replaced my broken cloth driver side seat with a power seat from a Explorer Limited. I cannot get any power to it, I plugged the wire that was under the unpowered seat into the newer seat but nothing. I am not very mechanically inclined, so any help would be great. Also, I cannot get my brake lights to work all of a sudden, the middle one works but no the rightor left. I have replaced the bulbs several times and the fuses are not blown.

The seat "drive" is pretty simple... one supply in.... so the "less than obvious" question is.... Have you measured for voltage on the incoming wire(s)?????? secondarily, was your other seat "powered"???????

Oops.... I see that you didn't have powered seats previously so... the big comment then is, you need to provide power to them in some way by either running a wire or trying to use a wire assuming you know what that wire / connector is and where it is connected to and / or make sure it is connected to something (ie. power).

On your brake light problem, what is your truck and do you have lights out module option?????

The old seats were not powered and no I have not checked the voltage on the wires.

I have a 99 xlt, I don't know about the lights out option, that the first I have heard of that. Probably not, my truck is pretty basic and stock.

You need to check for voltage at your brake light sockets (when the brakes are applied of course). If its there, then you need to check the grounds. The power for the two lights and the third come from the same source BUT there is a splice (near the datalink connector... which I think is under the dash area)

I don't think the two are related (seat and brake lights).
