Hi all, new member to the board. Bought an 06 the other day for my wife. I love this vehicle. Had just a few questions.

Cargo .... we went just last night to get groceries and the bags were flying all over the place. I see that ford offers a bungee net type thing, not sure how keen I am on that. Is there any kind of modular cargo system (i'm thinking dividers of some sort) or anything else you can reccommend?

Radio ... we have the factory NAVI with 2nd set DVD. I have scoured the internet high and low to see what expansion options I have available. I know that this deck is SAT-radio ready. Of course my wife and I are avid iPod users and it is a shame that I am about the be reduced to tearing the console apart to install a wired FM modulator .... anyone know if I can wire the ipod in line in or using the satellite radio port(s)? I saw a guy from pioneer oem post his email somewhere else on this board, tried to write him but nothing as of yet.

Thanks a bunch!!!!!

For the cargo I use a bag I picked up at Costco, 2 for $15. There is the rough side of velcro on the bottom to keep it from moving around. http://www.caselogic.com/folding_cargo_bag_trunk_organizer/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=42840

As for the stereo... welcome to my nightmare. I am still searching for a good way to get XM and IPod direct connections while retaining the steering wheel controls. I don't have the nav or rear seat DVD but from my understanding even if they do come out with a I-pod adapter you will likely need to unhook the rear DVD.

Enjoy the vehicle, it is great, one of the quietest cars I have ever been in.

One option we did with the IPOD was to transfer all of the songs off the IPOD to a CD in the MP3 format. This will allow you to get about 100 songs on the CD, plus the NAV display will show the song and artist that is currently playing.

On Fords website for http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/fas/b2c/home.asp They have a system with dividers. I don't have this system, so I don't know how good it works.

Thanks for the reply. I have ordered the cargo bag from Costco and will give it a try. I will also look into making a MP3 CD or two while I debate this iPod integration challenge.

I tried copying MP3's to a CD. I used a brand new laptop that has no problems creating CDs but the Explorer's Audiophile changer keeps saying "BAD DISC" and spits the CD out. Now this CD plays fine on my laptop and other computers. Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

Thanks,

When I create my CD's I use the iTunes program. This is a free download from Apple.com. In iTunes I select the songs I want on the CD and convert them to MP3. The next step is to convert the ID3 Tags to Version 1.0. After I do all this, I burn the converted songs onto a CD and they have been working in our changer.

There are probably other software programs out there that will also do this for your, but I have had the most luck with iTunes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! I never heard of that convert the ID3 Tags step. I also had to go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced tab > Burning tab, then click the "MP3 CD" radio button, put in a blank CD then click "Burn". My test was 30 songs, that worked great! Thanks again.
