New Snorkle Idea- Need some Suggestions

Ok, so I saw this Tj up at 4wheelparts in Plano. It had a snorkle that was mounted where our stereo antena is. Only it wasn't really a snorkle. It was a K&N conical filter with this K&N hard plastic cover on it. It only stuck up above the hood like 6". I think that this would be a great set up, but I have never seen these air boxes before. I might call up there tomarro. Also I never wanted to do the fender snorkel thing before because I would always have a hole in my fender, and If I wanted to take it off for winter or something, I would be screwed. If it was only that panel between the windshield and the hood, I could herc up the one I was going to cut, and keep my painted one If I ever want to go back. Any thoughts?

I have seen that exact thing you are talking about....on a Forklift! It was a pipe straight up, with a conical filter in a clear plastic holder at the top...It was on Komatsu forklifts.....maybe you could get one, and modify it to fit the X?
