I just purchased two Pioneer 10" subs and an amp yesterday. everything is already mounted in a box but I was wondering what kind of wires am I going to have to buy to run these as an addition to my Jbl premium sound system that came with my X?
I would really appreciate your comments!

the bigger the better

for the power wires i recommend 4 gauge. but if you ever plan on upgrading use 0 gauge.

for the speakers you can use anything from 16 gauge to even 8 gauge. pioneer subs dont take a lot of power so it doesnt matter really, but its good to run larger wires anyway. just in case you want to upgrade. then it will be a quick install without replacing wires.

good luck

Quick question stemming from the previous posting... say im pushin approx 300 watts into a JL 10W3, would the guage of the speaker wire matter in how much bass i get in return?

if your wires are too thin you definitely wont get as much bass.
10W3 is JL audio's high SPL line, so i would run at least 12 gauge speaker wire. it's just like buying jumper cables for your car. more current can pass through larger wires.

i change my system around frequently (every 4-8 months), so i use 0 gauge power and 8 gauge speaker wire for subs. on mids and highs i use 12 and 14.

i knew the 10W3 wasnt hittin as hard as it couldve... thanks

Dude, HuiDaddy, you're not dead? Haven't seen you in ages! ;)
To add to leenjen, yes, but not in the same way as determining the correct guage for an amplifier. For 4 15's ya better have fat wire, but for 300 watts, you could go a little smaller than that.

Personally I dont know how you can tell him what size power wire to use without knowing the what amplifier he is running... 0 gauge is overkill for most installs anyways.

i didnt tell him to run 0 gauge.
i said that i recommend 4 GAUGE.
it's in the first line of my post.

4 gauge is the standard for most installs.
some people with low power systems and no plans of ever upgrading use 8 gauge. i didnt know i had to write out an entire installation manual so i wouldnt get attacked in a reply. and i should type it twice so if anybody skips over a line they can read it again. i never tell anybody what to do, i just give advice. and i dont criticize the advice of others. i know that they cant poosibly write down everything they know in one post .

I appreciate your help leenjen!
