new tires new gears new boat question urgent

i just bought a 22' sailboat and i have 3.08 gears the truck is a 92 explorer sport 2wd it pulls the boat around the yard good but i want to get 31s or 32s by this christmas i was wondering if i should get 3.73 gears or 4.10? any help is appreciated. and what would i need to install aftermarket gears or what would i need to bring to the shop?

4.10, no question for 31s, they make 4.30s for the 8.8 as well which is what I would run with 32s. If you have to ask you should have a shop do it.

ok but what would i need to get for the shop to install them i dont want them to stick me with a overpriced bill.

4.10s for sure. how many miles are on your vehicle. if there is more than 100k i would consider a master rebuild kit for the rear diff it comes with new bearings, shims, and seal for pinion. the front you could reuse every thing unless you have used your 4wheel drive much.

If you have a junkyard near by I'd try looking for a 4.10 geared explorer axle since that was a factory option. They're rare but if you can find one, its cheaper than buying new gears and having a shop install them.

o man i already bought 3.73s and i also dont have 4 wheel drive the truck has 3.08 gears stock with 28 inch stock tires so does it make sence that with 32 inch tires and 3.73 gears it woud have more power than stock? or not

are you set on gettin 32"s with 31 you would be better off you will have more torque. the gear wont increase power. with that set up you will be fine i had 3.73 gear pushin 33"s and it lagged a good bit on torque before i swithed to 4.56. i started with 31"s with the 3.73 gear i pull a car trailer loaded at least twice a week and it was my daily driver

yea im not to set on 32s but i will be pulling a 3500 lbs boat every weekend so i was wondering about that.
