Hello. I am a new Explorer owner and new to the forum. I recently bought a 1997 5.0 AWD and have found this site to be very helpful.
I bought the truck on a Thursday, changed the oil and gave it a once over and left in it on Saturday on a 3,000 mile road-trip through the South West. The only trouble it gave us was the radiator springing a leak in the middle of Utah. I was able to get it replaced with out it costing a whole arm and a leg and it ran great the rest of the trip.
So far I have replaced the upper idler pulley, hood struts, radiator, and rear window seals. I still have a few things to do to get it perfect; front diff seals, window washers (front and rear) don't work, and the CD changer does not work. I like to do my own work on my vehicles and I'm sure this forum will be able to help me get it up to snuff.
