'94 Eddie Bower
I recently purchased a '94 Explorer Eddie Bower, just rolled to about 90,000 miles. The engine runs great (God bless Ford's 4.0) and after a little tune up (new wires all around and the such) I think I'm ready to blow all my money to make it swamp ready. Keep in mind I know nothing about off roading, considering my last car was a Focus. I'm not poor, but on a bit of a limited budget and have a few questions.

I think my lock outs are going bad, would it be worth it to put manuals in or dish out the cash for more autos?

Wondering just how close the suspension is to the Ranger of the same years. I may have some parts off of a 93 Ranger to swap but I don't know if its worth it to try.

I really have nothing on this car thus far, but I'm looking forward to it, I'm currently looking for a Grille Guard (about the only one I find for a 94 is this one chrome but if thats all I can find I'll go with it). I am also looking for after market steel bumpers (now mine arent damaged, but I'm sure its comming soon and I'm not in the mood to make them) and some decent tires. I figure if I cant find a decent Grille Guard soon I'll slap the biggest coopers under it I can.

Well, more questions to come, but any responce would help this tag along out a lot.

Yes the Rangers starting in 1989 to about 1995 i think have the same front suspension as the 91-94 explorers so the parts would interchange easily.
but the Rear suspensions are different tho.

in my opinion i would spend the $$ to change over to the manual hubs since the auto hubs can be finicky and troublesome at times.

As far as grille guards are concerned they is a guy on Ebay right now that is liquidating some Smittybilt grilles guards for the first gens that are black
so you might wanna try searching over there since i don't have the info in front of me at the moment. And also from time to time there are custom bumpers for sale on here in the classifieds so you might wanna check there too.

hope this helps
