04 for explorer
It has been brought to my attention that I've got this forum all wrong so I shall correct. I am new to the Ford world and have plenty mixed thoughts about it but hey I'm learning more daily and am hoping I can get USEFUL information on my explorer that will adjust the mixed thoughts of Ford for sure. Want to go back to loving my ride even at 17 years old anything can be amazing with help even it.

So I bought my 04 Ford Explorer 2 years ago loved it for the first two years took it to Ford for its first repair that it needed ever and since then is gone to s*** and a handbasket I'm having issues stealing my gas tank it keeps popping and saying you know like it's full or whatever while it makes a hissing noise and Ford can't seem to figure this out and I need to figure it out cuz I would love to put gas in my car
Unsure if Ford has ability to understand fix or even diagnose their cars unsure who to blame Ford or mechanics at spot by me far from mechanic but getting better than Ford last two years

Welcome.

Find a good independent local mechanic and skip the Ford dealers. Post your problem in the 2002 - 2005 Explorer Mountaineer 3rd Generation -Stock
forum. You will get a better response there. Also, when driving any vehicle that is 17 years old, you will have to make repairs.

Complaining about a vehicle this old is pretty silly. Who knows what it’s history has been.

As mentioned just take it somewhere else.

Fully aware of age and maintenance on older cars and more than ready to repair and up keep but if I can't get an answer to the question makes it harder to do such service mercy me mercy me

It’d be easier to help of it was spelled out better what the problem was. Your posts are full of autocorrect errors. I suggest re-reading and correcting them.

From what I gather you’re having trouble putting gas in. Not much that would effect that except the filler neck or the evap canister stuff.

What did Ford replace? How many different places worked on the car? Did the problem happen all of the sudden?

Thanks

Not silly actually also no complaints about my old car it's more complaining about inability to get answer to problem

So I had three shops check it out and three different answers given I've corrected everything that was stated to be issue even if it wasn't valid. Yes the problem happened all of a sudden. I drove home from work next am engine light on and I struggle to put gas in it. Takes me 30 minutes to fill up. Tank lines and hoses all swapped out engine light no longer on and no I cannot fill up yes evap corrected as well but still same problem hopefully my half seeing self spelled correctly enough this round

You don’t need to have an attitude. You want USEFUL help provide USEFUL information. Don’t try and come off like you were corrected about spelling. It’s hard to figure out why you’re having trouble “stealing gas” into your car with zero information on what was done.

There’s nothing involved in filing besides the filler neck, hoses to the tank, and the venting through the canister. One of them is plugged. One, or all three mechanics missed something basic. I’m assuming the check engine light was for an evaporative emissions leak. Whoever fixed this messed something up, but stopped the leak.

Take it back, take it somewhere else, or start pulling hoses off and looking for an obstruction.

Have you post your question to the forum I linked earlier? It is the proper place to do so in order to get more responses. Also, the clearer you define your problem the easier it is for us to diagnose.

We are not standing next to you when you are having the issue. If you explain it a little better then I am sure someone here will have a answer. Is the pump shutting off all the time when filling? Why is it taking you 30 minutes to fill the tank? I am thinking the vent line is clogged so its not letting air escape fast enough as gas is entering the tank.

Welcome to this forum! Do you usually use the same pump at the same gas station or does this issue occur at any gas station? Maybe there's an issue with the pump at that station. Did you try to fill your tank with a gas can to see if the same issue occurs?
