Hey everyone! My name is Megan and I was the girl who always hated on "Fords" & also said I would never own one....
(This was the young,very immature, & non-bill paying, 15 y/o version of myself)
Wellll..... here we are. 8 months solid of a Blue 2003 Ford Explorer Sport XLS 2 door. It has been a project, but hey I expected this when purchasing & I also like to keep busy.
Since purchasing my "truck" I have::
Replaced the struts, sway bars, added a
sound system, tinted the windows, restored the very faded plastic trim & wheels, & added a double din touchscreen unit ( I regret getting the "unit that was on sale")
I still have a list that's a mile long with plans I want to do
More importantly I am slowly working on what needs to be done to ensure she stays running
History::
My truck had 93k miles on it when I bought it back in December 2022. It was a "Happy Birthday "
The vehicle had not been driven in 10 years & needed TLC. The 1 and only owner of the explorer was my deddy's co-worker/ life-long friend-"D" who had it & used the vehicle specifically for car audio competitions back in his prime. I had went & looked at the explorer with my deddy back in August of 2022 because I was/had been without a vehicle for a while. Life then took a very unexpected stab & on October 19, 2022 I found my deddy lifeless in our garage. He has always been & will forever be my hero, but now my guardian angel. This Ford "truck" of mine has serious special meaning & I am thankful.
I'm a firm believer of -If I can figure/fix something myself with the proper tools, I dang sure will never pay anyone else to do it
(of course within reason)
**Fun-Fact: One of my longtime friends I grew up with, now is the owner of her dad's "u-pull" junkyard...)
The only thing I wish that was different about my Explorer..... 4x4
I am very open to any helpful suggestions, assistance, tips & tricks, etc.
