- 2001 Eddie Bauer 5.0
Hey everyone! New to the page and it looks like its a pretty good one from what I have seen so far. My current fleet of toys consist of....
A 1997 Sport with the 4.0 SOHC (currently laying on the ground next to it as I blew up yet another 4.0 which tallies up to 3 now) it has a rebuilt tranny with 15kish miles on the rebuild which will be getting sold to someone whenever I feel like taking it out, full cat back single exit Magnaflow exhaust, and a few other small odds and ends. 208k on the body.
A 1997 XLT? with the 5.0 (just picked it up for a grand, it will be the donor for the sport as I can't see myself putting in another 4.0 just to have it skip or break a guide like the rest did) which I haven't done anything with other than drive it home from an hour away and parked it. Didn't bother registering it as it'll be getting the DT torn out and swapped over. 114k on this one
Last but not least for the Explorer fleet, a 2001 Eddie Bauer 5.0 which I snagged for 2 grand back in 2013 and used as a backup vehicle so it didn't get driven a whole lot over the years besides a few trips here and there. When I got it, it was misfiring super bad. New coil packs, plugs, wires, coolant bypass line later down the line. It has a full catback exhaust dual exit which sounds decent. Haven't been pulled over in it yet. Haha. Just hit 143k on this one. Got it at 117k
Ive also got a Ford Casual based motorhome (1973 I believe) which I also got for a grand and besides needing a tune up and a brake light rewired, it needed nothing. Until I notice the driver side floor pan rusting out so that's also on the to do list. 97k Orignal miles. Drives like a champ and sleeps 4 comfortably.
2009 Mitsubishi Lancer DE which I snagged for 3 grand with 88k miles on it. Going to be swapping over a 4b11t setup here soon. Not as worried about that swap as I am with the Explorer since the 4b11 and 4b11t are pretty well the same.
1991 Kawasaki ZX600D which the motor is getting rebuilt as we speak in my laundry room downstairs ( I dont have a garage, Lol)
and last but not least, a 2007 Kawasaki ZZR600 which needs a new front rim as of this past summer because our city isn't very good at fixing potholes and I couldn't avoid it. **** happens.
Anyway, sorry for the long intro. Just figured I would get it all out there. Hopefully I can get some good help when it comes time to swap the V8 in. I've read a few walk throughs on here but I KNOW I will have some stupid questions to ask. Lolol. Thanks for having me here everyone!
