I am struggling with a decision to sell and replace my 2000 5.0L ("P" Heads) AWD XLT Explorer, or refit the existing platform with modernization upgrades.
I want to do mainly reliability, performance and cosmetic upgrades.
I have a noisy front cam bearing from an oil starvation (Caused by the combination of a girlfriend and a bad / useless oil pressure gauge on these trucks).
So, I am open to an engine swap, but all in all the entire truck is doing well.
It's AWD, and i can do the regular things, like transmission and engine service, some engine upgrades if i don't swap, with interior and exterior upgrades.
Does anyone here wish to help me focus in on the best, least trashy ways to generally modernize this truck?
Would you suggest the purchase of a new SUV?
My budget is about 3500.00
