2003 sports trac
hi im new here. here are a few specs on my truck. 2003 sports trac. 4.0l 2wd. 16in. chrome wheels. aftermarket cd player with 1 6in. sub(which hits like a single 12). i have a promblem though. here lately i have been smelling antifreeze but the truck as never ran hot or even warmer then usuall and when i check the antifeeze its looks fine. i finally got worried about it and look under the hood nothing was out of place there so i looked under the st and it looked like it was leaking somewhere around the transmission. i seen where it had some wheres pluged into the transmission and it looked like it was leaking from there but i know those wires have nothing to do with antifreeze. so all i really know is it is leaking around the transmission or maybe infront of the transmission( towards the front) any suggestion on where exactly it could be or from what? thanks

yes i have check all fluids (forgot to say its stick shift) and the fluid was orange i smelled it and it was antifrezze for sure. it was just around the tranny or maybe infront.

Possibly the common thermostat housing leak, running across and down the back of the motor/front of the transmission.

i would say ranchero may have it. if you park at night on a driveway, that would make it all the more possible that the leak is making its way from the thermostat and ending up dripping off your transmission.

could that still be the case if it does not happen everytime i drive it( everyday). because it doesnt happen every day( not that i can smell anyway) i wouldnt know for 100% fact because i dont get under it every time its drove
