Newbie 2003 electrical problems

My 2003 Ford Explorer's blinkers work whenever they want, my check engine, brake lights stays on and my A/C sounds like it's beating on a drum but first thing first...How do I fix my blinker?

Replace the bulb.
When it doesn't work, what does it do if anything?
